Walk 1 - Along the old Railway line to Wickham Square

A short walk from the camp site you can get on the peaceful pathway that was once an old railway line between Fareham and Alton.
If you follow the path south for a couple of miles you'll find yourself in the pictureque village of Wickham where you can enjoy a variety of Shops, Resturants, Pubs and Coffee shops.

Walk 2 - Bere Forest, West Walk

West Walk at 350 hectares is the largest remaining fragment of the former Forest of Bere. This is an ideal wood for a complete day out for all the family. Children will enjoy the adventurous playgrounds, walking and cycling in the wood. There are several picnic areas with benches, a choice of walking trails and toilets on site.

Walk 3 - Arbuthnot Woods

A 1.75 miles walk around Newtown and the surronding countryside. Bordering fields and using some roads, this walk can be extended by joining some of the Gully walk

Walk 4 - The Gully

1.5 miles - This walk explores the western side if Newton Common and includes both heathland abd a woodland walk.

Walk 5 - Heathland and Herbert

1.75 miles - This walk crosses the main heathland area of Newtown Common and then goes through the Herbert Plantation, a mixed woodland of oak, birch, alder and pine. Amongst the 35 species of plants usually associated with "ancient" woodlands in the Herbert Plantation you may find Common's-seal wood Sorrel, Wild Daffodil, Primrose and Wood spurge
